Tailscale is a zero-configuration mesh VPN built on the WireGuard protocol, available for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android. It creates a private, encrypted network between all your devices and servers — laptops, cloud VMs, Raspberry Pis, and containers — without requiring port forwarding, firewall rules, or a VPN server to manage. Authentication uses your existing identity provider such as Google, GitHub, or Microsoft. MagicDNS assigns memorable hostnames to each device on the network. The free plan supports up to 3 users and 100 devices. Tailscale is used by developers and small teams who need to securely access home servers, self-hosted services, and cloud infrastructure from anywhere without the setup overhead of traditional OpenVPN or WireGuard server configuration.
